Ayurvedic Inspired Flow: Live, Be, and Move in Balance with the Seasons

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity filling up

Come practice, feel, and reflect on being more in sync with yourself in the summer seasons.  Find more space, ease, and peace in being.  Plan to move gently, fluidly, and gracefully to the live music of Michael Ayotte, in and out of postures to foster a feeling of flow, cooling, and grounding. Genell's sequencing and cueing will guide you into a fluid, connected, and relaxed state of easeful being and deep presence for a more balanced way of being and living in the summer months. All levels, doshas/constitutions are welcome.

In the ancient science of Ayurveda, the 5 elements (earth, water, fire, ether, air) provide the building blocks to life; everything on this earth and in the universe is built from these 5 elements.  Seasonally, certain elements become more dominant in nature and in our bodies.  By recognizing these imbalances in both nature and our bodies, we can lean into a healthier and happier life.  The summer months in Ayurveda are the months or season of excess heat, humidity, intensity and light with the predominant elements of fire and water.  Perhaps you can relate to the feeling to having to fit it all in, the day is sunny, the summer is short, no stopping until you drop.  Sound familiar?  In order to help you thrive and be present, healthy, and happy throughout your whole summer, consider welcoming in more balance into your life through actions that are cooling, neutralizing, and slow.  The asana practice will allow students to explore and embody the various elements, with particular focus on earth, ether, air, and water.  When the elements are in balance, nature and our our own bodies work to sustain life.
